Mill End is a beautiful and historic building.  We recognise, however, that older buildings can present additional challenges for those guests who have reduced mobility, or who have impaired hearing or vision, and have included some additional information to help you plan your stay with us.It would help us to help you if you let us know at the time of booking if you have any mobility difficulties, or any special requirements with which we can assist. Please note that registered guide or support animals are accommodated at the hotel free of charge. 
Car Parking and Entrance
We have a large free car park within the hotel grounds.  The distance from the car park to the front door is approximately 25 metres. There is level access through the front entrance, and a wide doorway which can be made wider for larger mobility aids. You are most welcome to park directly outside the front door wherever this would help us accommodate you.  In consideration of other guests, we would ask you to move your car to the car park as soon as possible.Ground Floor Public AreasThere is level access through the front entrance into the main hallway, reception, restaurant and our small bar lounge.There is one step up to the main lounge but our smaller lounge area and reading room are completely accessible and are frequently used for afternoon teas, lunches and dinners.Bedroom access – Teign Wing, Ground FloorThe Teign Wing is reached either through the garden wing and courtyard (which is open – air) and has 4 steps leading down to it or by going around the hotel to the annexe at the back where there is private parking for guests staying here. To enter the hotel main building there are steps or guests can circle around the front of the hotel. Note there is no flat access from the wing or hotel entrance to the public toilets.

Avon – ramp access direct from the parking area – walk in wet room

Mardle – accessed by a raised platform with 3 steps – walk in shower

Webburn – upstairs in this wing on the first floor – 1 flight of stairs

Bedroom Access – Garden Wing, Ground Floor

Please note that the Garden Wing is reached via three steps up.

We have three rooms on the ground floor, which are  suited to guests with reduced mobility.  These rooms are:

Yealm – a Standard Double with a walk-in shower*

Swincombe – a Twin with a walk-in shower*

Erme – a King Size Double with a bath with shower over

* The walk-in showers in these rooms have a step into them.

Bedroom Access – Garden Wing, First Floor

Please note that the Garden Wing is reached via three steps up.

These rooms are reached via a wide staircase with sixteen steps and a handrail.

All bedrooms in this area have a bath with shower over.

Bedroom Access – Main Building, First Floor

This area is reached via fourteen average-width stairs, with a handrail to one side and a horizontal ledge to the other side (a useful additional hand-hold).

Bedroom Areas – Main Building, Second Floor

This areas is reached by a further fourteen steps from the first floor. This staircase is a dog-leg, and has a handrail to one side.

Guests with Visual or Hearing Impairments

Whilst we don’t offer any specific arrangements for guests with visual or hearing impairments, we will do our very best to assist.  Please let us know of any special requirements at the time of booking. Please note that registered guide or support animals are accommodated at the hotel free of charge.

For your Safety

When you arrive at Mill End, please let our receptionist know if you have reduced mobility, or visual or hearing impairment, which may result in you needing additional assistance in the event of an emergency.

We also recommend letting us know at the time of booking so we can ensure the greatest level of accommodation to your needs ahead of time.
