The Main Dining Room
Our 2 AA Rosette awarded restaurant seats up to 42 guests, perfect for private functions and weddings. The large, traditional dining room features beautiful windows with views of the surrounding country gardens and front lawns. The dining room is complemented by ornate mirrors, candles, and Dartmoor-themed artworks. In the evenings, enjoy a cosy and relaxed ambience. The adjoining bar is fully stocked with local spirits and wines.
Dog Friendly Dining Areas
Our Little Lounge and Reading Room are our dedicated, dog friendly dining spaces, where guests can enjoy breakfast or dinner with their four legged friends. These areas adjoin the main restaurant and reception.
The Reading Room
The Reading Room, located at the front of the hotel, features a cosy fireplace lit during the autumn and winter months and a large window with views of the front lawn. This space is perfect for guests with dogs to enjoy breakfast or dinner. It can also be privately hired as a smaller, more formal meeting space for up to 6 people.
The Little Lounge
A cosy, restful space with a log fire lit during the autumn and winter months, the Little Lounge has a large window overlooking the front lawn and hotel entrance. You’ll find a quirky dog portrait and plenty of historical information, including old postcards and intriguing dining menus. You are very welcome to borrow a board game from the bookshelf. The Little Lounge seats 4-6 people.
The Main Lounge
Our large lounge is ideal for indoor wedding ceremonies, accommodating up to 25 guests. It exudes a traditional country house feel with a warm ambience, and views of the gardens and countryside. It features a log burner, large comfortable sofas, dining tables, and quaint decor. The lounge can be arranged for large but relaxed meetings and offers views of the gardens and countryside. Enjoy afternoon tea, lunch, or birthday celebrations here. The lounge also houses a small library of books, local leaflets, our 2 AA Rosette plates, and information about former resident Jack Whittle, the inventor of the jet engine.
Lodge
Relax in the peaceful gardens and charming riverside location of our open-plan log cabin, which seats 20. This space is perfect for outside wedding receptions, so you can enjoy the best of the outdoors, whilst safely undercover from the elements. In fair weather, we can host birthdays and small celebrations in this space, offering an exclusive and private atmosphere.
Garden Lawn
Our sprawling lawn features several tables and large parasols, providing an idyllic space to unwind with afternoon tea or brunch in the sunshine. Should the clouds come over, you can retreat to the wooden cabin or head inside to our snug lounges. After tea or lunch, explore our country gardens and discover the historic mill feature in the courtyard.
Summer House
Our beautiful summer house on the spacious front lawn is licensed for civil ceremonies, offering a picturesque setting for your special day.
