Markets are one of the best things about the run-up to Christmas, helping to get you into the festive spirit while presenting the opportunity to discover some fantastic and unique gifts. Whether you want to purchase some local produce or enjoy a warming cup of mulled wine, there are plenty of Christmas Markets near Dartmoor for you to experience.
Exeter Christmas Market
Exeter Christmas Market is one of the biggest and best in Devon and well worth a visit. You can find the market outside Exeter Cathedral from Friday 15th of November to Sunday 15th of December 2024. At the market, you’ll find over a hundred festive chalets to shop from, with hand-crafted gifts, local Westcountry produce and Christmas decorations on offer. As well as the fabulous market stalls, you’ll be able to find plenty of food and drink to choose from, with global street food and themed bars to enjoy.

Monday-Wednesday: 10am-7pm
Thursday-Saturday: 10am-9pm
Sunday: 11am-5pm
Exeter is about a 30-minute drive away from Mill End Hotel, making it a perfect place to visit for the day before returning for a delicious meal and a great night’s sleep while staying at our hotel.

Totnes Christmas Market
The Totnes Christmas Market is one of Stay In Devon’s Top 10 Christmas Markets in Devon, and it’s certainly one worth exploring. In 2023, the market will be on Tuesdays 3rd, 10th and 17th of December from 3pm-9pm.
Totnes is known for its unique shops, with the majority of the shopping area containing independent stores. As well as these shops, there will be over 70 local artisan stalls to browse, so you’re bound to find some special gifts for loved ones here. In addition to the Christmas shopping experiences, you can enjoy festive food and drink, music and entertainment.
On 17th December at 4.30pm, there will also be a magical illuminated lantern parade organised by Totnes Carnival.

Buckfast Abbey Christmas Market
Buckfast Abbey puts on a fun and festive market each year, with over 40 stalls from local artisans, businesses and artists. You’ll also find plenty of tasty treats, plus festive entertainment from a range of performers. The market runs from Thursday 28th to Saturday 30th of November, and is open from 10am to 5pm.
Buckfast Abbey are also offering Christmas Wreath Workshops on the 12th and 13th December 2024.

Tavistock Christmas Market
The Tavistock Festive Love Local Gift Market is hosted at the Butchers Hall on Saturday 16th November and 30th November from 10am to 4pm. Explore stalls of artisan exhibitors and discover a delightful selection of candles, jewellery and local produce that would all make fantastic gifts. The market will also have plenty of seasonal fun and yummy food.
